ASSEMBLE
A Conceptual Project

A YCN Brief
50% less children in UK schools between 2003 and 2013 progressed to study Design and Technology (Warwick Commission). Design a tool that encourages design and technology in the classroom.

THE BRIEF

We believe this percentage is due to creative tasks being replaced by uninspiring text books. As a result, children are turning to online games to express themselves. Assemble reverses the concept of hybrid games, taking characters out of the game and into the crafty physical realm.

Children then assemble their characters and by working together with the Assemble guide and their teacher they can gradually build and expand their character through making.

Assemble is an ongoing conceptual project that gets 7 to 8 year old students making more.
