Graphic Designer
20 Hours Per Week (5 Days, Permanent/Contracted)
£15,000 - £20,000 per annum (pro rata, 20 hours a week; £30-40k full-time equivalent), depending on experience

Reporting directly to the company’s creative directors, this is a unique opportunity to make a personal impact in a small but progressive company. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Buttercrumble is a family-owned business that specialises in design for good ideas and good causes. Buttercrumble takes pride in delivering branding, illustration, and graphic design to a number of community-sensitive and young-at-heart organisations across the globe. Clients include Chester Zoo, Mamas & Papas, and Libraries Connected.
The designer will support the production of visual solutions for a diverse mix of public sector organisations, small businesses, and household names. The candidate must utilise Adobe’s creative software to design brochures, presentation documents, and marketing collateral to solve clients’ unique challenges.

They must appreciate the impact of design and how it can achieve our clients’ commercial, funding, and social responsibility goals. They must also be alert to our clients’ deadlines and able to design under pressure.
We are looking for an experienced graphic designer with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a creative agency. It’s vital that you understand how to manage your time, prioritise tasks, receive feedback and follow creative briefs.
Responsibilities:
Assist the creative directors with the design of branding and marketing collateral
Design and type-set brochures, interactive reports, and presentation documents using Adobe InDesign
Prepare designs (such as posters, packaging, and signage) for print and production
Create relevant content for social media for Buttercrumble and our clients
Design e-shots and email newsletters using Mailchimp and Klaviyo
Support with website design across no-code platforms such as WordPress and Squarespace
Share mockups, rationale, and sketches to enliven and justify design solutions
Ensure artwork is consistent, accurate and adheres to brand guidelines
Present deliverables to clients via email and face-to-face meetings
Liaise with the team to ensure deadlines are adhered to
Interpret and apply feedback to the team’s designs
Requirements:
GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above
Relevant qualification in a creative discipline (Level 3)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a creative in an agency environment
Preferred Skills:
An interest in marketing (to design social media graphics, brand literature and website content for Buttercrumble)
Motion graphics and animation
An understanding of project management tools like Trello and Toggl
Experience working within the creative industries
Full UK driving license

What induction and ongoing training will be provided?:
Buttercrumble offers a range of training opportunities, specifically:
An induction period (involving shadowing and small internal briefs) which all team members will be required to undertake and will assist settling into their new role.
A personal development plan called Making Magic where team members regularly meet to develop relevant skills and acquire knowledge to underpin their current role and career aspirations.
Plus, an annual review to assess past performance, predict the type of work team members could be doing in the following year and future, and how best to develop and maximise contributions to Buttercrumble.
Team members are also entitled to 4 development days per year to pursuit additional training, hobbies, or voluntary work.
