Meet Niamh: Our New Team Member

At the Buttercrumble HQ, we're pleased to share that we have a new team member. Niamh currently studies Art and Design (Fashion Pathway) at a local college. She reached out to us to gain further work experience in graphic design in order to decide what career path would be right for her. Since joining us here, Niamh has helped us develop the Sketcheasy project as well as improving her own design skills and knowledge.

We decided to ask Niamh a little more about herself and what she loves about creativity...

  1. When did you first realise you were creative?
When I started high school. In year seven we had to do all of the possible subjects such as textiles, art drama etc. to give us a taster of what they all were like. I really enjoyed doing textiles, art and ICT so I did these as my GCSEs too.

  2. Where are you with your journey currently?
At the moment I am at college studying Art and Design – Fashion Pathway, and coming to work with the Buttercrumble girls has shown me more possibilities as to what I can do to help me with my studies too.

  3. How has working with a graphic designer helped you?
It has helped me in so many different ways. It’s given me a lot of confidence when being around and meeting new people, as I would describe myself as quite shy and reserved. It has helped me structure my time wisely and efficiently, which is very useful because I’m the world’s best procrastinator! Most of all though, I now know what I want to do with my future and can’t thank Abigail and Chloe enough!

  4. What are your plans for the future?
After my second year studying fashion, I’m going to stay at college and study graphic design too because I think that is more my area of interest, however it pairs nicely with fashion. After this, I want to go to university to study graphic design, and after that… who knows!

We believe everyone is creative in their own way and it is an ability that can be learned. Do you agree? What do you love about being creative? Please let us know by leaving a comment.
