Buttercrumble Exhibits Illustration in Hong Kong

Buttercrumble was delighted to visit Hong Kong during BODW CityProg. This was a citywide programme that engaged the creative community and businesses across the region.

As the UK was the 2019 partner nation, we had the chance to showcase our work which was an opportunity we seized with both hands! We took part in the COLLATE exhibition at 7 Mallory Street, curated by Marmalade on Toast (now Thursday Design Studio).

7 Mallory Street comprises of a cluster of refurbished pre-war Grade II historic buildings built in the 1910s. It now provides a co-sharing space for the community to host exhibitions and gatherings.

The exhibition (which took place from the 3rd December to the 7th December 2019) celebrated the best in contemporary illustration and typography. There were no specific themes, just a positive display of UK and Hong Kong artwork. COLLATE presented artwork digitally, which rotated on-and-off the screens. These were accompanied with QR codes in order for the audience to discover more about each piece.

Buttercrumble submitted a number of young-at-heart illustrations for the exhibition. We were delighted to see these displayed in a fun, unique and international setting. Thank you so much to the Department of International Trade and Thursday Design Studio for supporting our creativity.
