We are proud finalists of two family business awards! Buttercrumble beat strong competition with a record number of 186 businesses entering the Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards from across the region.

Co-Founder and Director of the awards, Sue Howorth said: “We were inundated with some incredible entries, and we have been burning the midnight oil to get through them as they came in right up to the wire. The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make, so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves!”

Since our launch in 2017, we’ve been making a real difference in the local area and internationally. Buttercrumble has had the pleasure of working with clients including The Royal Armouries, Chester Zoo and Mamas & Papas (to name just a few).

Our twin founders were born and raised by the sea in Scarborough. Then, in 2016, they graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) in Graphic and Communication Design. Together, they settled in the city and established Buttercrumble. As twins, they have a strong bond which is essential between business partners.

Furthermore, Abigail and Chloe believe their twinship makes them natural born team-players and they've always enjoyed collaborating. As children, they would draw on rolls of newsprint and recreate scenes from their favourite storybooks.

Creativity was encouraged from a young age and especially so from their Granddad who supplied the newsprint. His own father was an artist and has a painting in the Hepworth gallery, Wakefield. The nomination is extra poignant as their Granddad passed away just days before the award announcement. A win would mean the world to Abigail and Chloe who always strive to make their family proud.

The finalists received a visit from an expert judge and are now subject to a public vote. The judge’s and public scores will be combined before the winners are announced on Friday 11th November.
