Presenting the stories of wedding dresses
The brief
Buttercrumble partnered with Harrogate Council to create a unique identity for the wedding dresses exhibition at The Royal Pump Room Museum.
"Spanning almost two centuries of fashion history, Wedding Dresses salutes the wedding dress' steady ascent, as well as unpicking the aesthetic and social ideas sewn into its ruffles and flounces.
The Royal Pump Room Museum's rare and inspirational collection of donated dresses offers a glimpse into the lives of the women who wore them, their social circumstances and fashion choices".
Within our designs, we wanted to convey the heritage and memories behind the presented wedding dresses. Traditional imagery of the interlocking rings and classic dress creates a statement of the everlasting stories.
The results
The designs produced allowed The Royal Pump Room Museum to
launch their new exhibition in March 2019. Without design, they would have been unable to market their event to such a high-standard. The show received positive press coverage from Visit Harrogate, Yorkshire Post, The Harrogate Advertiser and Harrogate Living Magazine.
