It was a joy to return to basics last Sunday and enjoy the love and effort which goes into writing an old-fashioned letter. We had the perfect workshop venue (Anthropologie, Leeds) and loveliest guests to collaborate with too!

By working with the creative lifestyle brand, Anthropologie, we created a supportive environment where participants penned letters that combined words, collage and illustration before securing in an equally beautiful envelope. Their happy mail was then ready to pop in the post!

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting John Lewis in Cheadle for their Easter activities. There we illustrated bespoke surprise eggs for customers, young and old. What was the surprise? Each egg, when opened, revealed a message of positivity. We love to spread a little joy through our work.

Browns teamed up with York's Lord Mayor & Civic Party to host an exclusive evening of shopping, pampering and socialising in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Keep Your Pet and the Refugee Action York Charity.

We were thrilled to be invited to spend an evening browsing the latest SS18 fashion collections, see beauty demonstrations and, of course, illustrate lovely customers. We attended the event to gift guests with their own bespoke portraits and enhance their experience of the evening.

We were delighted to be invited to the fourth Women in Sport Conference North, which took place on the 16th March at BBC MediaCityUK in Salford. It was an amazing celebration for women in the sporting industry and we felt empowered listening to their stories.

When we first started out, we found it embarrassing to share our business' name. Can you believe it? Hindsight is a beautiful thing and we now realise that its seemingly random nature is great for making it memorable. As well as being sweet, it's sticky too. For a business name to be successful, it needs to stick in your audience's mind. If your customers can't remember what you're called, how do you expect them to call you?

At the 2018 FSB Awards for Yorkshire & Humberside, we were thrilled to take home a trophy for the region's Micro Business of the Year. As a micro business, we appreciate the trials and tribulations that come with running one! It is these challenges that make receiving support and recognition from our peers so special.
