Bertie's Brilliant Transformation
Bertie's in Elland, south of Halifax, is one of the area’s most popular venues. It's been host to countless celebrations for over thirty-years. Although extremely successful, one quiet week forced the team to think creatively. What could they do to re-engage the public? After scratching a few heads, they had an epiphany in the shape of cake. They could transform the ground floor space into a charming and welcoming tea room.

Diversity of experiences and perspectives is vital precisely because we all have our blind spots. That’s why it’s important for designers to actually engage their audiences and users to get a better understanding of what’s important to them, how they use what you design and how they see and interpret what you create.
