Bertie's Brilliant Transformation
Bertie's in Elland, south of Halifax, is one of the area’s most popular venues. It's been host to countless celebrations for over thirty-years. Although extremely successful, one quiet week forced the team to think creatively. What could they do to re-engage the public? After scratching a few heads, they had an epiphany in the shape of cake. They could transform the ground floor space into a charming and welcoming tea room.
Leeds Creative Labs: Climate Edition
We're pleased to announce our involvement in the Climate Edition of Leeds Creative Labs as established by the University of Leeds' Cultural Institute. The Priestley International Centre for Climate and Leeds Digital Festival are partnering with the university in order to bring researchers and creative professionals together. Why? So we can explore imaginative collaborations and create fresh ideas around climate issues.
How a Static Brand Can Hurt Your Business
We all want to inspire and motivate our audience! How can you expect to achieve this if your brand feels stale? We know you don't want to be yesterday's news. You're a mover and shaker.
In order to stop your brand looking stale, the identity should actively develop over time. It should convey the business' future aspirations as well as its core values. It shouldn't become complacent with current situations. Instead, it should challenge what exists and be open-minded to change. This creates a dynamic and forward-thinking brand.

York Fashion Week: Create a Look Book Workshop
We have a passion for fashion, and boy, did we share it at our latest workshop. We enabled local stylists, students and fashionistas to feel confident about style in collaboration with York Fashion Week and Fashion City York.
To celebrate the hotly anticipated fashion week, we invited guests to lovingly create their own look book to boost their creativity. Fashion can be a powerful self-reflection and we wanted to give people the power to express themselves through illustration and design.
Live Illustration for York Fashion Week at Marks & Spencer
York Fashion Week 2018 (by Fashion City York) was a stylish week-long festival celebrating fashion and creativity across one of our favourite cities, York. When we first discovered this, we were eager to get involved and it’s lovely to now be a part of the festivities! One way we’ve been contributing to the magic is through live illustration. We were delighted to be asked to illustrate portraits at the VIP Launch Party at Marks & Spencer.
Whilst at the party, we interacted with local bloggers, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, stylists, makeup artists... the list goes on and on! Everyone loved socialising and celebrating. Our live illustration offered respite for those in need of a sit down! Those that did sit with us, had a lovely experience receiving a bespoke portrait drawn by us live on the night. Our favourite part of the process is seeing the guests’ faces light up as they receive their illustrations.
We have carefully crafted and written our story over the last few years. It’s now time to unveil The Brand Power Manifesto! We’re delighted to publish our debut book (with huge thanks to BIS Publishing). It’ll be released mid-May 2024. Watch this space!
