Behind the Scenes: Take a Seat! Project
Here’s a behind the scenes look at our recent Take a Seat! project, featuring a video of the process. We painted the bench for weeks, so we could fully immerse ourselves in the East Leeds community. We painted on-site and were able to converse with a range of different people. It was a lovely experience to have following months of isolation.

Take A Seat! has brought colourful benches across the city to celebrate local communities and how they rallied together during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a commemorative project for the people of Leeds, and we knew we wanted to be a part of that!

Despite COVID-19 and its persistent setbacks, the last 12-months have been the most successful yet for Buttercrumble. We have strengthened international links, restructured our team and we’re now expanding with a new satellite office in London.

Visual note-taking enabled Buttercrumble to capture London's Mayfair Youth Forum, engagingly and creatively. 2-3 Degrees kindly invited us to document the event earlier this month.
The forum is formed by a group of young leaders aged 14-18 working to enhance #YouthVoice in the Mayfair, London.
Buttercrumble Exhibits Design in London
London. It's not just the capital of the UK. It’s the creative and cultural Capital, recognised globally.
Therefore, we could not pass on a trip to see Buttercrumble’s design concept exhibited at Somerset House for the London Design Biennale. We had to see the show with our own eyes and acknowledge the exciting range of creativity on display.
The Art of Sustainable Spaces and How Brands Can Benefit
Even following the pandemic, people will still feel that deep urge to stay integrated with their community and nature. We all want to feel self-sufficient and have gained an appreciation of slow living, forced by recent lockdowns.
Over two days, Buttercrumble’s founders, Chloe and Abigail, created more than 100 individual, bespoke hand-drawn portraits – a real novelty in our world full of algorithms, AI and automation.
