Back by Popular Demand

Earlier this year, we launched a collection of vintage-inspired silk scarves. The scarves were met with an amazing response as they helped to secure us a place on Art&’s RAW Talent programme, received national press coverage and sold out! Following popular demand, the coveted collection is relaunching today, with only 25 scarves being produced. It makes owners of the scarves true fashion trailblazers. It is wearable art. Live Portrait Illustration at Victoria Gate, Leeds

This month we had the pleasure of setting up our easels in the gorgeous setting of the Victoria Gate shopping centre in Leeds. We were thrilled to take part in their Shopping Affair event which even saw, Strictly Stars, James and Ola Jordan take the stage.

Our role at the Shopping Affair involved illustrating guests. We love performing live illustration at retail events like this because of the smiles we create. Each person received a bespoke portrait which they could take home and treasure forever. The portraits make beautiful mementos and conversation-starters.

Our Portrait Workshop at The Gallery at Cafe 164

This week we hosted our first portrait illustration workshop at The Gallery at Cafe 164 in Leeds. It's a venue full of inspiration because of their regular art exhibitions. For us, it was the perfect place to host an illustration workshop!

During the workshop, we helped participants find their illustrative style and create a portrait that captures their personality on paper. We invited everyone to experiment with line and colour to explore the various ways you can draw facial features.

Our Illustration Workshop at Anthropologie Leeds

Earlier this month (16/09/17) we had the pleasure of hosting an illustration workshop at the gorgeous Anthropologie store in Leeds. This was a huge delight for us because Anthropologie has to be one of our favourite shops! It was a great setting to share our creative skills.

We offered a fun illustration experience which allowed guests to express their creativity and style. We guided attendees through the creative process allowing them to illustrate and produce a stylish paper doll to take home and treasure. We encouraged everyone to use the fashion and homewares in Anthropologie as inspiration.

Meet Niamh: Our New Team Member

At the Buttercrumble HQ, we're pleased to share that we have a new team member. Niamh currently studies Art and Design (Fashion Pathway) at a local college. She reached out to us to gain further work experience in graphic design in order to decide what career path would be right for her. Since joining us here, Niamh has helped us develop the Sketcheasy project as well as improving her own design skills and knowledge.

We decided to ask Niamh a little more about herself and what she loves about creativity...

It can be easy to get carried away with the visuals of your brand. We all love to look at beautiful things as it helps us to understand, identify and evokes emotion. However, the visuals cannot reach their full potential without strong foundations.
